The Role
Working as part of a multidisciplinary tendering team, you will take ownership of the electrical engineering scope within tender submissions. This includes ensuring full compliance with client, transmission and distribution operator requirements, while contributing to risk management, value engineering and programme development.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the lead electrical engineering point of contact within the tendering team
Manage all electrical engineering inputs and deliverables for tender submissions
Identify technical and commercial risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
Work closely with tendering, operations, engineering and commercial teams to deliver accurate and compliant bids
Coordinate electrical interfaces with civil, cable and overhead line engineering disciplines
Liaise with equipment suppliers, designers and specialist consultants during the tender process
Review supplier and consultant quotations for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness
Identify opportunities for value engineering and design optimisation
Provide input to tender programmes, engineering budgets and resourcing plans
Attend tender clarification and post-tender meetings as required
Ensure all tender designs align with relevant standards, regulations and safety requirements
Promote a strong safety culture throughout the tendering process
Support business development activities and client engagement where required
Assist with the technical handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams
Stay informed on emerging technologies, construction methodologies and design innovations
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Honours Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience within substations, HV/MV networks and/or renewable energy projects
Technical Knowledge
Experience preparing technical inputs for engineering or construction tenders
Understanding of the utilities, substation and renewable energy sectors
Proficient in AutoCAD, ePlan and Microsoft Office (experience with cable design or electrical study software is an advantage)
Familiarity with Irish transmission and distribution operator specifications is beneficial
